Hex: VR is a small experiment and dip into VR. The game is designed to be very simple and more of a proof of concept for designing in VR using the Oculus Go. The player uses the pointer remote to select different powers from a collection in the environment. The player can then cast that spell from their pointer or use the pointer to select a spawn point to move around the environment.
During development, I focused on environment design, VFX, and UI. My favorite part of this project was learning how to make UI that is seamlessly integrated into a VR world. My goal was to create a UI system that felt fitting to the environment and did not distract from the game play or pull the player out of the immersion of VR. This was achieved by integrating the UI into real world objects to interact with.
